Take a quiet body check and notice whether this term is showing up as a faster heartbeat, a busy stomach or something else.

One way to meet these sensations is to consider that your body may be getting ready for something demanding. A sign of stress is not proof that you cannot cope.

Take one comfortable breath and try the words "My body is giving me energy". Keep them only if they feel useful and true for you.

The sensation may stay, and you can choose your next step without waiting for it to go.

Use the image of an engine preparing to move if it helps students understand that activation can have more than one meaning.
Ages 16 to 18
Keep the reframe as one optional reading, and talk about when it would not be accurate or enough, especially when the pressure itself needs to change.

If you have longer

There is a full lesson on this skill, about 40 minutes.
